  • Tunnel – eyes open wide

While driving to the henry ford, we passed under a lot of tunnels. Each tunnel we passed under, you would open yours eyes really big; until you finally fell asleep.

  • Sleeping techniques

V1: when you came home from the hospital, it was pretty simple: walk around the room.

(I later realized I always walk clockwise.)

    V2: walking and rocking

V3: I noticed while walking around the room, you would get pissed after passing by the lamp, so I decided to start in front of the lamp and slowly walk away from it.

V4: you nicely allowed me to rock you to sleep while sitting, saving my back a lot of pain.

  • No poop for you

Day 3 and still no poop.

Oh irony. As soon as I saved this post (wasn’t finished, so I didn’t publish it), you pooped. YEA!

  • Ha Ha: Bigger laughs

You sure think mommy is funny (she is).

You did a 2 syllable laugh (compared to your first 1 syllable “ha” you’ve been doing previously).

Ironic, because you sure were cranky today.

  • So the Drooling begins

A couple of days ago, your normal bubbles turned into a small amount of drool.
Enough to make your shirt wet.
Mommy didn’t believe it was that much, but then saw the amount that had landed on your chest and was very surprised.

    Maybe you’re teething already.

  • what a day

Today you stayed awake: 8hrs and counting.

Mommy was feeding you and sang some songs and you started to join her!

We were worried because you were crying very loud, no matter what we did, until we found the calming tummy position. So we figured it was gas and gave you some mylicon.

  • Pica-pau

We nicknamed you pica-pau (woodpecker) because when you wanted some breast milk, you would lean in and bounce back, just like a pica-pau.

  • bath #9

This was a mostly calm bath. A little crying.

Dr. Howsen said we could put you in more water (don’t need to worry about getting water in your ears) so I used 3 containers full tis time. I also set up the pump/shower/spray thing. That seemed to be fun/new for you.

  • bath #8

Well, what did we do different this time so you didn’t scream almost nothing?

Mom says you missed me since today was the first day I went to work (I worked from home monday and tuesday).

I made the water a little warmer, maybe that helped.

Maybe because you’re almost 1 month old.

  • bath #7

Well, so much for a calm bath. Today julia screamed bloody murder during her quick bath. We did things the same as last time, but maybe she was hungry when started.
