  • Girlie

We went to our friend’s house for a bbq and I managed to put some of your new Ribbies on your hair. So cute!

  • Bad, bad day

You had a very bad day today: 1) your tooth cut through during the night; 2) when you got up you had a big bloody scratch between your eyes (you scratched yourself overnight because your nails are quite long, since you haven’t been cooperating with Daddy who has tried to cut them for days); 3) you were walking towards the office, tripped and hit your head on the door, making a huge bump in your forehead; we had to put ice on it but of course you screamed and tried to get away…add to it that you have been jet lagged and had your vaccines this week, and it has been a pretty rough week for you!

  • Where are the people in these pictures

Your first whole day back from Brasil, you noticed the lack of people around.
Mamae said you were looking around, like you do when you hear me get home from work, then you started pointing at all the pictures.

You trying to tell us you miss them?

  • New Earrings

We finally changed your earrings for some new ones your aunt gave you.

You’ve been wearing the original once from since we put them in. Why it was so hard to get them off before I don’t know, but I finally removed them and put in the new ones (while you were sleeping/nursing of course).

  • Jealousy rears its head

You were thirsty after playing at the “play ground” at the mall, so was your cousin. He got an orange bottle with water in it and you wanted it, even though we offered you the exact same bottle, but it was red. You HAD to have the orange one.

  • No More Bib, I’m Done

Mamae said that you started tearing off your bib recently, presumably when you’re done eating. I only saw you do it when we got back home.

  • Walking on the beach

We took you to the beach again today, we were visiting your aunt Helena and we walked to the Barra beach. You had flip flops on and even so, started crying when the sand touched your feet. You asked Daddy to pick you up and he did for a moment, then we got your shoes off and put you back on the sand. You came crying to Mommy this time, but after a couple of minutes you started getting used to the sand and in the end, you were walking all over the place, didn’t want to stop. You even fell and got your hand in the sand, but didn’t care about it at all. Now you are truly a girl from Rio 😉

  • Clapping

We have been teaching you how to clap your hands, practicing for your birthday party in Brazil. You are definitely improving, but you can’t quite bring your hands together with the palms open flat yet. You keep trying to clap them together but you usually end up with one hand on top of the other, or one open hand while the other is closed. You love when we sing happy birthday to you and clap our hands, or clap your hands with ours.

  • Daddy Pool Day

You went with me to the pool so mommy could work.

We had lots of fun. I thought we were getting too much sun, but I guess I was wrong. But I did burn my feet on the hot cement.

  • Look Where I Point

You are looking at things we point to.

Mommy pointed at Gato and you looked where she was pointing (instead of looking at her finger).
