You just got promoted from level 2 to 4 at swim class today! You were very happy, and we are so proud. You are making a lot of progress really fast, you just got promoted to level 2 a week ago, so that’s 3 levels in 1 month. Go Julia, our little mermaid!

Yeah, I’m the type of dad…

Coined a new phrase: WJEI. Will Julia Eat It? She eats lots of different things but for some reason she will refuse to eat random things she likes. Last night, I made pasta with a spinach cream sauce. She love spinach and pasta and cream sauce. And she likes this dish as she has had it before. But, after putting her pasta in her dish, she refused to put the sauce on top and refused to eat the sample I gave her. She sat in her chair for 20 min until she tried half and then decided to eat the other half (clearly indicating she liked it).

So while in Brasil for 41 days, you slept thru the night 37 of those nights. One night you were in your own room and woke up to come to our room. The rest you woke up in a very weird crying state and couldn’t be comforted.

We have been home for a week. You slept thru the first couple nights. Then there was a big storm and that woke everyone. The past 3 nights you have woken up and when you come to our room I ask if you want to go back to your room so you can get chocolate milk in the morning. You say no. I ask if you want to sleep on the small bed be t to our bed so you can get chocolate milk in the morning. You say no. So instead of arguing/fighting in the middle of the night I let you sleep in our bed. Very full with you, mamae, Eric, gato and me.

You only watch nick jr at home. While in Brasil you watch discovery kids which has commercials. You saw one for ‘Simon flash’. You said you didn’t have one and wanted one to play with me.

Update: you ask for every single toy you see in commercials, and you said Papai Noel was going to bring you a Lava Lava (mini washing machine with real water).

We left mom’s purse at he aunts house and you cried. So strange that you were so sad we left the purse. We explained how we left Pretty in Paris and she came home. How we left you jacket at school and you got it the next day. You said the same about your sun glasses. Then mamae explained how Tia would find the purse, look inside and know it was hers and call Lucia. You made her tell the story many times over and over.

We have been in brasil for a week and you said you miss you school friends. We need to take you to some activities with your cousins. We will be here a long time.

Finally, you let mamae trim your hair. The ends were very split and seemed to be a constant knot somewhere.

Your doc (spencer) told us to try a half pill (1 pill is 1 mg, so 0.5 mg) of melatonin to see if that would help you sleep thru the night. So tonight is the first time we’ve given it to you. Let’s see how it goes.

You missed you would be second swim class due to our passport trip to Houston. So Friday you went. The teacher had you put you face in the water which didn’t work out to well since she didn’t explain you have to hold your breath so you ended up with water in your nose a few times. Not sure if you got the concept yet, hopefully next time. Of course mamae and I explained it after the class and I even mentioned it from the side of the pool.
