  • Sleep with new schedule

Finally, you slept thru the night last night. Now do that 36500 more times.

  • Singing in School

I dropped you off yesterday and Ms. Biederman said you like to sing.

I think you get that from me, or maybe Dora.

  • Kindergarten – First Day

    Your first day of Kindergarten!!!

You were pretty excited. Mamae pointed out that it wasn’t that much different than going to daycare, but I was excited.

You got up pretty well for 6am.
    Got ready.
Took pictures by the front door (like your first day of daycare).
    Got to school early.
Took pictures outside, by the sign, by the door, inside.
Found your locker, put away your lunch and backpack.
    Found your seat, colored.

Then you got a little sad. I think you were mostly tired.

We called to make sure you got on the bus to Rainbow Station – Village. You had already left.
Called Rainbow Station but the bus hadn’t arrived yet.

    You got there fine.

Picked you up kinda late since your new schedule has you eating dinner at 6pm. Your weren’t happy about that.
You quickly ate your sandwich (why didn’t you eat it at school? Not enough time?) and went to watch cartoons.

When it was time to take a shower and get ready for bed, you of course said you were hungry. We allowed you to eat because of the adjustment to the new schedule (and getting you from Rainbow Station – Village so late).

  • New schedule

I have been waking you up and putting you to bed 20 min earlier everyday for a week to get you ready for school.

You’ve been doing great (except for waking up in the middle of the night) eating early and taking your bath early. Getting up early is not too easy but at least no fighting (you are just rather lazy/sleepy).

Just need to make sure we (mamae and I) go to bed earlier too. And Eric.

  • Sleep update 5 years

Near your 5th birthday you were not sleeping thru the night very consistently (like always).

I wondered if turning 5 you’d start to magically sleep thru the night (the same as people told us you would start sleeping when you were 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, etc).

On the night/morning of your birthday you woke up and I was not that surprised (though slightly sad).

Then you proceeded to sleep thru 6-7 nights in a row! Then you broke your wonderful streak by waking up not once but twice in one night. Even after going to the park, riding your bike, not napping, having 5 kids over.

I am wondering if the theory of having food coloring causing you to wake up could be plausible.

  • Self shower

Last night I gave Eric a bath at the same time mamae was supposed to give you a bath. But you wanted to do it yourself! You pretty much did do it yourself. I’ve been trying to get you to wash your hair. I guess it kicked in…

  • Kindergarten song

I guess you learned a song about finishing preschool and going to kindergarten. I love when you burst out in a new song.

Kindergarten here we come, here e come.
    We learned our ABC’s (ABC’s)
    We learned to count 1 2 3.
    …

  • Socks please

Your shoes and feet are stinky without socks. So much you recognize using socks is better. We still argue about using white vs colored socks.

  • Months

Out of the blue you started singing a song about the months (insert tune here). Seems you know them all in order.

Now to learn portuguese (me too).

  • Nurse

I picked you up yesterday and you had to go to the nurse to get a band-aid because you got a scratch on the back of your hand from a lego!

I had to sign a piece of paper saying I knew what happened.
