Today we took you to Rutledge for Kinder Camp where you got to meet your teacher and (most of) your classmates.
After, you didn’t want to go to Rainbow Station. Probably because you were tired. But maybe you are ready to start Kindergarten.

You were watching cartoons and I was feeding Eric. Your cartoon finished (on the DVR) so you asked for another one. I said I couldn’t go there because I was feeding Eric. You said you’d feed Eric while I started a new cartoon. Smart.
While getting you ready for bed (or school) you said you had an idea: You’d brush your teeth and I’d brush you hair. Very efficient. Too bad I couldn’t find the brush quick enough. You don’t spend enough time brushing your teeth…
Finally, it was your birthday! You’ve been waiting a long time to turn 5 (since some of your friends started turning 5, you’ve been asking for a few months now when will your birthday be here).
We put balloons (which you loved) and your gifts around the table.
Of course you didn’t want to try on your “Bell” dress.
After your school “party” you wanted to come home, so we brought you home early.
For some reason you wanted an ‘eye patch’ to wear to sleep. I knew you meant the sleeping mask that covers your eyes. You wore it for a short period but eventually took it off.
Same thing tonight.
3 days in a row you wanted tomorrow to be sharing day. When we told you no, Wednesday is not sharing day, you insisted it was. Same with thursday. Finally tomorrow is sharing day so there is no arguing.
Vovo and vovo gave you an early birthday gift: A new bike!
You loved it and starting riding (with training wheels) immediately.
You also insisted you go riding with Izzy.
Your friend Samantha at school must have invited you over for a sleep over (even though her mom did not say that).
When we talked about it again, you asked “How am I going to take my bed?”
We all laughed. And I explained you’d sleep in a sleeping bag. You commented you don’t have one.
Maybe time to buy one (though seems a little early for sleep overs).
Yes, I am aware that we are telling you to do things that we don’t always do. (Hopefully Mamae realizes this too). We tell you to go to bed on time, but we stay up late. We tell you to go to the dinner table, but Mamae stays on the computer.
Hopefully you realize we’re trying to teach you what is appropriate.
