Day 3 and still no poop.
Oh irony. As soon as I saved this post (wasn’t finished, so I didn’t publish it), you pooped. YEA!
Day 3 and still no poop.
Oh irony. As soon as I saved this post (wasn’t finished, so I didn’t publish it), you pooped. YEA!
During the night you scratched yourself badly on the nose. You woke up in the middle of the night screaming, we ran to your bedroom and when we saw your face we understood the reason to such strong crying: a big bloody scratch on your nose. Your nails are not even very long yet, but I guess one of them was sharp enough to do the damage. Then I tried to cut the guilty nail in the morning and I’m still not sure about how it happened, but I cut a bit of skin close to the nail instead. You didn’t even cry or flinch, but the cut was bleeding non stop for a while. Your clothes got blood all over, your toys, you looked like you went to war with the blood in your hand and clothes and the big bloody scratch on your nose. 🙁
You just started looking at your feet, wondering what those things are for 😉 You try to touch them when you are sitting down playing and stare at them during bath time. How long until you put one in your mouth?
We finally got your ears pierced today. You look even cuter wearing your white gold ball earrings. We took you to Claire’s at Alderwood Mall (for the 3rd time, since the previous 2 times they sent us away saying you were not old enough or you needed your vaccination history with you) and the lady there marked your ears with purple ink, made us sign a bunch of papers saying we authorized them to pierce your ears and then your daddy held you on his lap while she used the machine to quickly pierce your ears. You cried very loudly and was out of breath for a minute on my arms, but when daddy came back after paying for the piercing you were already fine and smiling again. We walked out and you were just looking around, the piercing episode and earrings already forgotten. The store gave us a cleaning solution that we have to use 3 times a day to wipe your ears clean, and in 6 weeks we can change the earrings to the ones your aunt Helena sent from Brazil.
You sure think mommy is funny (she is).
You did a 2 syllable laugh (compared to your first 1 syllable “ha” you’ve been doing previously).
Ironic, because you sure were cranky today.
Your dad was working until very late so I decided to give you a bath by myself. I planned the whole thing for a while thinking about every step and how I would do it alone. Everything was going really well and I was starting to rinse you when you turned your head too far back and a little bit of water went up your nose. You immediately became frantic, I got you into a choking position so any water could come out and you coughed for a little bit until calming down. You were really red from screaming and I wanted to finish the bath right then, but you still had soap in your lower body. I then held you sitting down in your baby tub so the water wouldn’t go anywhere near your head but the minute I poured some water on your body you went nuts and threw your body backwards, hitting the side of the baby tub with your head. Needless to say you started screaming and crying again, I picked you up and ended the bath right then. You stopped crying in my arms and I wrapped you in your towel, you were fine by the time you were dry, but I was shaken for the rest of the night.
You’re 3 months old today, now you’re not a newborn anymore. Everybody tells us that from 3 months on everything gets easier and more fun, let’s see if we can tell the difference in a couple of weeks. Too bad there’s no doctor visit, we wanted to know how much you have grown.
A couple of days ago, your normal bubbles turned into a small amount of drool.
Enough to make your shirt wet.
Mommy didn’t believe it was that much, but then saw the amount that had landed on your chest and was very surprised.
Maybe you’re teething already.
Today not only you grabbed a few of your toys using both hands but you also brought them to your mouth. You haven’t really put them in your mouth yet, you just attempted doing it.
You don’t usually like taking a nap in the afternoon. Yesterday after you cried for a little bit that you were tired (lots of yawnings and rubbing the eyes), I swaddled you and put you on the swing – and you slept for 2 hours! Today I did the same thing and you have been sleeping for 2h20min and counting.
