  • Rolling

While you were doing your tummy time this morning you rolled to your back, but we don’t know if it was an accident or if you know how to do it. We’ll see if you can repeat the feat! You looked pretty happy with yourself, and smiled a big smile like telling me that’s what you wanted to do all along.

  • The kitty gets your attention

Gato came in your room today and you stared at him for a while, and smiled at him several times. Is this the beginning of a friendship?

  • Zzzzzzzzz

You slept 5 hours straight for the first time last night! We put you in your crib at 1 AM after a feeding and when I woke up with your cry and looked at the clock, I almost didn’t believe my eyes: 6 AM! WOW! Hopefully you will do this again 🙂

  • The Great Pumpkin

We enjoyed the beautiful day (amazing 77F, sunny and blue sky) to go to the pumpkin patch and get your first pumpkin for Halloween. The only problem: I wasn’t expecting such a warm day and didn’t dress you accordingly. Sorry! It was the first time you had to deal with the heat and the sun and we didn’t have any sun hats that fit you or any of the big ones in the diaper bag, so you ended up wearing a cotton ball cap. A fleece romper and an onesie under it completed the inappropriate outfit. You started crying while we were walking on the pumpkin field so I took you to the car and changed your clothes to something lighter, but since we had nothing to protect your head, we didn’t go back to the field and waited for your grandparents and friends to come back. We got you a nice big pumpkin that we’ll carve on Saturday when your nona arrives to visit. Next year you will have a better time, I promise!

  • Discovering your hands

This morning you were sitting on your grandma’s Lucia lap and staring at her pijama’s sleeve for a while. Then you actually started trying to grab the sleeve with your right hand. You have been opening both hands and touching things randomly, but we hadn’t seen you try and grab something until now.

  • Keep walking

We went to the mall today and daddy carried you around in the Baby Bjorn. He put you there facing out so you could see everything and everybody and you loved it. But for whatever reason you didn’t want him to stop walking, so he spent the whole time we were there walking non stop! We stayed for 2 hours so it was quite amazing that you spent all that time in the carrier. The only time you complained was when daddy stopped walking, so he got a lot of exercising. Since he has been counting / tracking steps for his exercising program, it was not bad at all!

  • I tawt I taw a puddy tat!

You have been around our cat Gato since you came home from the hospital, but you hadn’t really noticed him until today. You have seen him many times but you never acted in any different way than when you saw something else around the house. Today you opened your eyes wide when you saw him and stared while he was moving around. I can’t wait until you are old enough to call him and pet him! Not sure he will like that 😉

  • You have been pacified!

Every time we try to give you a pacifier you usually spit it across the room and cry really hard, outraged at that horrible plastic thing in your mouth. However, we keep trying to make you accept the pacifier, since you aren’t satisfied by sucking on your hands and fingers. Today not only you took the pacifier but you also slept many hours with it. And to my complete surprise, when I put you on your crib after the last feeding of the day, you woke up but didn’t cry, you just laid there sucking on your pacifier until you fell asleep by yourself.

  • 2 month visit

Your 2 month visit was great, you were in a very good mood, smiling to the doctor, cooing and moving non stop. You weighed 12lbs7oz and were 23 3/4 inches long. Dr Howsen said you have good neck control and that we can put you facing outward in the Baby Bjorn, we know you’ll like that. She also told us you have to sleep more during the day, no surprise there, the problem will be trying to make that happen. Then you had your 4 shots, 2 in each leg, and you cried really loud – it was the loudest we heard you so far, poor thing. At least it was very quick and mommy nursed you right after. By the time we left you were already smiling to daddy in the car seat.

  • The explosive diaper

For the second time in your lifetime you were able to make such a big poop that your diaper leaked, not only making your pants dirty but your back and the clothes of whomever was holding you – both times your grandma Lucia was the victim. Both explosive diaper incidents happened during the night, after 4 AM, and all I saw were the soiled clothes about to be washed the next morning. I still don’t understand how the clothes were that dirty, it seemed like you weren’t wearing any diaper at all. I will spare everybody the details, and no, I didn’t take a picture of it.
