A few more words: (26) peixe (fish), (27) pá pá, (28) tsh tsh. Pá pá has 2 uses: you heard daddy and vovô hitting nails with a hammer and kept repeating the noise, and you use to say you want to play with the tennis racket, because that’s the sound of the racket hitting the ball on a tennis game (which you hear a lot since your vovô watches tennis games on TV and plays tennis while you are at the playground). You drag the racket around the house saying pá pá. Tsh tsh is the sound of the pressure cooker which you hear a lot since vovó makes beans every couple of days. You decided that all the pots in the stove are “tsh tsh” when cooking, and requests that we take you near by so you can see what’s cooking.

Climbing the ladder
Daddy and vovô were working assembling a closet organizer and you saw the ladder they were using next to the wall. You kept pointing at it every time we went by, and Daddy decided to go near it with you to see what you were going to do. You climbed it! And didn’t want to go down or let go of it! I had to trick you to get you to let go, you thought it was so much fun climbing the ladder…I guess it’s a good practice for the playground.

All the stairs
Today you climbed up all of the stairs by yourself. I walked behind you to make sure you were safe, but you got all the way to the top without any help from me.

3 new teeth
You have one tooth coming on the bottom, right next to your front one, and two coming on the top, also next to the existing ones. I can feel the tip of 2 of them that have cut through, and the 3rd one on the top hasn’t cut through yet.

Sapateando
When you dance, you usually don’t move your feet. I was dancing with you this morning and you were watching my feet the whole time. Then later in the day you started dancing moving your feet, a mix of marching, irish dance, tap dance, it’s very funny. We say “sapateia” and you start dancing like that. You love to dance, can’t really hear a song without dancing, even when you are sitting down or laying down you move your body anyway.

The Coffee Maker
Your vovó and vovô always have a cup of coffee around 5 PM every day. You absolutely love the noise of the water going through the coffee and dripping inside of the coffee pot. Every time they start getting the coffee maker ready you request to be picked up and go near it to watch. And you make a noise with your mouth like the sound of the coffee maker. You recognize the word coffee now and every time someone says they are going to make coffee, you immediately start making the sound. Daddy was able to catch that in video today, it’s quite funny.

Banana story
We were standing in the kitchen and I asked vovó if you were saying “banana” yet. You heard the word and immediately started pointing to the bananas in the fruit basket. You pointed at Daddy asking him to get you one. He gave you one but didn’t peel it (because it was close to your dinner time). Then you looked at the banana and told Daddy “abre” (open it). We all laughed and ended up letting you eat some of the banana (actually a bit more than half of it).

Hungry little girl
You were upstairs playing in your room with Daddy. Vovó was heating up your food for dinner. She told me to go up and tell your Dad that the food was ready. The minute I put my foot on the first step, I see your Dad coming down holding you while you said “nham nham”. He said you were playing and all of a sudden left your doll on the floor, walking towards the door saying “nham nham” because you could smell the food.

More words
You can say (14) “mais” (more) when you want more food. When we go out and you see other kids, you say (15) “mina” (menina/girl) and (16) “mino” (menino/boy). You actually managed to say “menina” today. When you see a car you say (17) “bi bi” (the noise the car makes). You can say (18) “mimi” (dormir/sleep) but you don’t use it always in the right situation yet. You say (19) “miau, miau” (meow) when Gato meows. You are trying to say your first word in English, (20) “bubba” (bubbles/bolhas).
