You were playing with your phone toy, which plays a song everytime you press some specific buttons (not sure which ones, seems kind of random). The song started playing and you were humming along!

The little things
We want you to be independent, but its times like these I’ll cherish:
When you approach the stairs (on the back porch) or uneven pavement, you stop, put your hands up to reach for me and wait till I’m there so you can hold my fingers to safely go forward. So cute.

CIO Night 3
Put you to bed at 8pm, you made a slight noise at 11:47pm, and slept till 7am. YEAH!
We still woke up in the night for no reason, but it is sure nice to think we can get 7 hours of sleep.

eogati
You keep repeating this “word”: eogati, eogati, eogati. We were trying to understand what you were saying – then it finally clicked: I always point at Gato and say “é o Gato” (it’s Gato) and you were repeating the whole thing together “éogáti”. The confusing part is that you say that to many other things besides Gato, but when you pointed at him and said “éogáti” after me, we got it.

CIO Night 2
Put you in bed around 9pm. You slept until 1:30-ish, made very little noise and went back to sleep, or maybe you were partially awake (on and off) till around 2:30am, then you slept until 6:30am. Didn’t seem like you were going to fall back asleep completely so we got you up at 7am. Seems to be working pretty well.

CIO
So, even though we said we’d never do it, we decided we had to.
You started crying at 10:15pm, stopped around 10:24pm.
Then a tiny more at 10:33pm for probably less than a minute.
Some more at 10:38pmThat was surprisingly less painful that we expected. Very happy too because we hate letting you cry (hence why we waited SO LONG to try this method, but nothing else was working).
I hope you still love us.
Overnight you woke up at 12:40-something, 1:45-ish, 4:45-ish and 7:45am.
However, I just connected the clock we were using and it was still set to Pacific time (though, I of course set the time correctly, it communicated with the satellites and adjusted itself), so we’re not sure which of those numbers are PST or CST. -
Sick September
This past month was the most difficult for you and for us. The first week of the month you started running a fever and we thought it was because of the MMR vaccine. The fever didn’t go away after 3 days and you were cranky, we took you to the doctor and he said you had a tonsil infection. A few days later, still not better, we took you back and this time it was an ear infection. We started giving you antibiotics. Still a week later you were not better and we took you back – another ear infection, new antibiotics. Now that we finish with the antibiotics you started running a fever again last Saturday and then again on Sunday – we took you to the doctor on Monday and they said the ears are fine and were not sure what is wrong this time. We think it’s teething, but we can’t see any teeth so far. It has been a month full of Tylenol, Motrin, 2 antibiotics and a lot of waking up at night and crying. We are all tired and cranky, hopefully your teeth will cut through soon and everything will be back to normal.

Mango juice
After you fell in love with cashew juice, I decided to give you mango juice. Sure enough, you loved it too. I guess you have a thing for tropical fruits? Or maybe you just decided that you like juice now, we’ll see…

Avre
I took you to the backyard at the end of the day like we have been doing for a while. We walked out and you kept saying “Avre, avre, avre” and I didn’t realize at first that you were pointing to the tree while saying that. Sure enough, you were trying to say “arvore” (tree) while pointing at the tree. You love going near the trees and touching the leaves, you always point at them so we can take you close enough to do that.
