  • Fortune Cookie

Today, at the end of mamae’s birthday dinner, you had a small piece of a fortune cookie. Not sure you cared for it very much.

  • New Earrings

We finally changed your earrings for some new ones your aunt gave you.

You’ve been wearing the original once from since we put them in. Why it was so hard to get them off before I don’t know, but I finally removed them and put in the new ones (while you were sleeping/nursing of course).

  • Drinking from a big bottle

You drank some water from a 1 liter bottle, because you saw me drinking from it. We normally put some water into the cap of your baby bottle, but you didn’t want anything to do with that; you had to have it from my bottle.

  • Jealousy rears its head

You were thirsty after playing at the “play ground” at the mall, so was your cousin. He got an orange bottle with water in it and you wanted it, even though we offered you the exact same bottle, but it was red. You HAD to have the orange one.

  • No More Bib, I’m Done

Mamae said that you started tearing off your bib recently, presumably when you’re done eating. I only saw you do it when we got back home.

  • Up the Stairs

Today, we went to finish your Brasilian citizenship, and you wanted to walk up the stairs. So, holding both of your hands, you walked up about 4-5 stairs. I told mamae to get the camera and make a movie. When you saw the camera, you decided you want to go down, backwards. Then you went up and down the first step a bunch of times.

  • Aba

When we ask you if you want water (agua) you usually say “aba” back to us, so we think you are trying to say “agua”. You haven’t used the word to actually ask for it, but you repeat it when we say it a few times.

  • Bending down and Standing Up

Today you bent down and stood up all by yourself. You can pick things up that are on the floor and stand back up without using furniture.

  • Walking on the beach

We took you to the beach again today, we were visiting your aunt Helena and we walked to the Barra beach. You had flip flops on and even so, started crying when the sand touched your feet. You asked Daddy to pick you up and he did for a moment, then we got your shoes off and put you back on the sand. You came crying to Mommy this time, but after a couple of minutes you started getting used to the sand and in the end, you were walking all over the place, didn’t want to stop. You even fell and got your hand in the sand, but didn’t care about it at all. Now you are truly a girl from Rio 😉

  • New foods

This past week you had: cow’s milk (Ninho), yogurt (Ninho Soleil & Danoninho), ice cream (flocos), cake, grilled cheese sandwich, churrasco (beef, chicken and garlic bread, which you loved) and Brazilian pumpkin.
